|Q:||The finish on my different pieces of furniture does not match. Why do they look different if they are the same finish?|
|A:||The natural warmth of wood is a lasting value. Character marks, checking and grain variations are part of the beauty of wood and, therefore, should not be a concern. Wood will absorb the finishing materials differently, resulting in a slight variation.|
If the finish variation is of too much difference, please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-835-2742. If you reach voicemail, please be sure to leave a message with your name and contact information, and we will contact you as soon as we can.
|Q:||What is the difference between drop-side crib and safety-gate crib?|
|A:||The safety-gate is a small portion of the top front side that can be let down to access your child without moving the whole front. Benefits of the safety-gate:|
1. Added Safety
2. Easier to Reach
3. Saves you Money
4. Longer Time in the Crib
For more information on the benefits of a safety-gate crib, please visit our website page at http://www.babysdream.com/SafetyGate.aspx
|Q:||What is included when you buy the crib? |
|A:||Our Safety gate cribs come with one instruction sheet and hardware to assemble the crib and the toddler bed. The toddler bed conversion kit is also included within the box. All Stationary cribs require the additional purchase of a conversion kit. Rails for adult bed conversion is an additional purchase.|
Unfortunately, we do not offer any mattresses. We recommend that you ask your retailer for assistance with this.
|Q:||What is the measurement between the crib slats?|
|A:||The distance between the slats on our cribs are regulated through Consumer Product Safety Commission. Our cribs meet or exceed the regulations set fourth by CPSC. The regulation is not to exceed 2 3/8" between the slats. With slats spaced farther apart, a baby's head, arms or limbs could become trapped between the rails, resulting in serious injury.|
|Q:||If I order the crib now and decide to order the dresser later, will the color be the same?|
|A:||Practically speaking, "yes", if ordered within a reasonable period of time.|
We use the same basic paint, so other than product aging, you should not have a noticeable difference. Of course, it is best to have all your products manufactured and stained at once. This is why we recommend purchase of the complete nursery at the same time.
|Q:||Are your products "baby safe"?|
|A:||With your baby in mind, we create the safest cribs meeting all government standards. |
Our cribs meet or exceed the CPSC regulations as well as the JPMA regulations. We also use a non-toxic stain and lacquer finish.
All of our cribs are made of solid wood and weight can range anywhere from 80 to 140 lbs. The solid wood contributes to the sturdiness of our products.
|Q:||What do I need to do to maintain my furniture to ensure it has a long life?|
|A:||If treated with care, this solid wood product will last you for many years to come. Once every week, wipe your Baby's Dream furniture with a damp cloth. If you encounter any roughness in the finish of your new crib, fold a piece of regular white paper, not tissue or newspaper, and rub in the direction of the grain with a soft, lint-free cloth. If refinishing, use a non-toxic finish specified for children's products. Let dry, sand with products such as folded paper or dishwashing sponge and, finally, apply water-based baby's safe lacquer for the perfect matching shine.|
|Q:||When should I convert the crib into a toddler bed and a full-size bed?|
|A:||The time that you convert will depend on each child's individual comfort level, maturity, and size. When the toddler is able to climb out or reaches the height of 35" (90cm), the crib should be transitioned to the Toddler Bed stage. In most instances, toddlers will be able to sleep in the Toddler Bed stage comfortably between the ages of 2-5 years old.|
We recommend converting the crib to the Adult Bed stage after your child reaches 6 years old, with proper adult supervision. Note that the Adult Bed is not a toy. To avoid head entrapment or hanging hazard, do not allow children to play or climb on Adult Bed. Once a crib has been converted to a toddler/youth bed or adult bed it is not intended to be converted back to a crib. In that instance it will not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
