Care Instructions

The natural warmth of wood is a lasting value. Character marks, checking and grain variations are part of the beauty of wood and, therefore, should not be a concern. To preserve your furniture, we suggest the following:

  • Do not expose furniture to direct sunlight or extreme changes in temperature or moisture.
  • Do not place the furniture near heating or air conditioning vents.
  • Lift objects rather than dragging them across the top surface when moving them.
  • Avoid contact with rubber feet materials (such as computer, desk lamp, radio) on your furniture. Certain plastics may damage the finish.
  • Use a protective pad when using your furniture as a writing surface.
  • Wipe up spills promptly.
  • When cleaning your furniture, use non-toxic, non-abrasive furniture cleaner with soft, lint-free cloth. Dry thoroughly and then apply furniture polish. Always wipe the furniture in the direction of the wood grain.
  • We recommend the furniture to be polished every six months. Over polishing can distort the natural finish of the product.

Baby's Dream has a great reputation for exceptional quality. We never take shortcuts on craftsmanship, materials, or packaging. We do understand however that there are times during house moves, or through the years that minor things can happen to the furniture. During those instances there are simple solutions we recommend.

Easy do-it-yourself troubleshooting

Door Hinges: Our armoire doors use an adjustable hinge system for easy tuning if a door becomes uneven or doesn't line up exactly. By tightening or loosening the screw on the inside hinge it will slightly adjust the door.

Minor Scratches: A dish-washing sponge with a light abrasive portion or sand paper will lightly scruff out a minor scratch. Afterwards a thin layer of lacquer should be applied to seal the area. Touch-up pens are perfect for minor scratches. They can be ordered through babysdream.com or by calling 1-800-Tel-Crib.

Sticky Drawers: If your drawer appears to not roll smoothly you can take the drawer out and check to see if there is a screw coming out of the track on the inside of the case. Tighten the screw using a screwdriver and the drawer should operate smoothly again.

Tipping Restraint Kit: Included with all tall dressers and case pieces the tipping restraint kit should be used to secure the back of the piece to the wall to protect it from tipping over and falling onto a curious child.
